Update I

Saturday was beautiful and this photo shows one of the dogs returning the sheep to the pen. The whole field was used and the dogs displayed amazing control at some considerable distance from their handlers.

A different kind of sheep was on hand to offer some fielding support during the Welford game. Bishopsbourne won by taking a wicket with the last ball of the final over! The game was played in glorious sunshine and supporters and some players were fortified with beer and wine throughout.

I SO want an inflatable sheep now!

why is it that humans find sheep and squirrels funny? or is it just Americans?

Nogbad said...

well I can't speak for everyone else but I find sheep, squirrels and Americans funny - is that what you meant? :-)

ScaryCheri said...

pffft...Americans are dumb.
Sheep and Squirrels have it all figured out.

Scary, you can't just go around upsetting Americans like that you know.

ScaryCheri said...

your right Lobster, I'm ashamed of myself now......

ok I'm over it

Nogbad said...

Hi EM - The white thing in the second picture is the captain of our cricket team - Geoff. Next to him is an inflatable sheep.

As far as I'm aware none of the people or animals in either photograph is called Camilla :-)

Nogbad said...

Oh Cheri - you tease! :-)

But don'tcha gotta love the light in both shots? In the sheepdog photo the contrast between the long grass and the brown grass behind and the branches?

Lobster Blogster said...

Nogbad, just to let you know there is big international debate raging at Lobster Blogster. EchoMouse, I think you've caused enough trouble already.

I like the top photograph. There is a lot to look at in it and it forces you to look around the whole picture. Most people, including myself, make the mistake of putting a 'subject' in the middle of a shot but that is really boring thing to do.

Will Update II be following shortly?

Hi Kat - yes the top one is a bit special and I'm glad it came out as well as it did. I was trying to grab the colours and scale as much as anything else, the change in the colours in the field shows where the river is (except regular readers will know that it's simply a dry ditch) and that and the trees suggest that it was a hot summer's day in rural England - which is exactly what it was. I have a few more photos of that and the cricket and when time allows I'll bung them on the web site.

BF - I wondered when someone would ask! :-) Initially I was going to upload the images and postings separately hence the numbering. I guess I'll have to make something up now :-)

You should add it to the digital picture of Britain on the bbc site. It's almost too late for the competition but it's not about winning prizes.

Nogbad said...

I've done that Kat - thanks :-)

We should all go and vote for you then. I'll do it after midnight. Some urgent pressing matters at the moment.
