OMG!

I'm sure many have been following the discussion about "Intelligent design", the theory of the earth's development which accommodates God's design rather than the narrow vision offered by Darwin. The Onion now reports on evangelical scientists who refute gravity. They offer the theory of "Intelligent falling" which suggests that God pushes things down rather than some invisible force called gravity attracting things. Check it out to keep up with modern thinking in the physical sciences!

14 careful considerations:

I love The Onion! And I bet tho, there are some that really do think this!! LOL (yes, my faith in humans is this low)

Nogbad said...

Oh but it's true innit Angie? :-)))))))

It isn't God pushing things down. Everyone knows that the Earth sucks!

Hey GW - those guys have "The Bomb" and a record of regime change in countries that don't agree so if they can get a majority vote for all of us being left under gooseberry bushes by storks and gravity really being little invisible elves tying weights to us and the world really being a big disk carried on the backs of four elephants riding a giant space turtle then that's fine by me! :-)

Thanks for this, nogbad.
Oh, so once more we have ideologies being forced upon schoolkids. The article doesn't even make me laugh, it's so disgusting.

TRT said...

Well, so long as God doesn't push a bit harder on the finger that's over the bomb button.....

"It wasn't me who destroyed the world. It was God honest! Oh, you know him then?....... And it wasn't him?!...... Sure?...... Damn!.... Errr...... It was the Devil pulling us all down towards the fires of hell, honest! Where's the CCTV footage of it happening?...... What do you mean, missing?"

Nogbad said...

Oh Chiquita you have to let it make you laugh - that's what The Onion is all about! But the underlying message really is that while ideas like this are taking hold we should all be careful.

Nogbad said...

Oh CCTV is just so yesterday! Now all you need is a dodgy mandate from the electorate and access to armed forces. If you can suggest that the person or people you go for might have access to some form of weapon (suicide bomb or WMD will work)..........

Ah, ok! Thanks for clarifying. *gg*
But it's a tough joke. I am still a little afraid it might become true.

Sadly Chiquita I think you may be right!
