The earth moved for me!

Twenty past eight this morning while I was considering getting out of bed for a cup of tea the house shook. Earthquake strikes Kent! No real problems here but down the road in Folkestone there is some damage - nobody seriously injured though. Almost like living in San Francisco!

It was a small earthquake. Nothing that we would even blink at. :)

I was in The High Peaks and saw the remains of a road after their earthquake in 1993 (I think it was then)

The road is in layers like tumbling dominoes. Trivial compared to San Francisco and the remains of the flyover but equally dramatic in the centre of such utter peace and stunning scenery.

Interesting, I hope it did't bring back too many memories and make you feel depressed!

the small earthquakes are kinda fun and interesting. Having been nearly thrown out of bed in Cali. in an earthquake and enjoying the aftershocks I know about this. Did you hear the rumble of the Earth moving? Cool right?

The only earthquake I ever experienced was some thirty years ago in Austria. It was a small one, but nevertheless left me a little dizzy and my house with a few cracks which are still there.

Glad to hear that everything is allright in good old Kent :-)

What an experience! Glad to hear all is ok. Apparently it could be felt over in Essex. Didn't feel a thing here in North Kent, but then I wouldn't, I was only just up, hadn't had my caffeine, and so wasn't exactly 'with it'.
