You know it makes sense....

Given the US record on electing comedians and clowns this looks like a sensible solution. And he's a hockey mom (whatever one of those might be)!

5 careful considerations:

A Hockey Mom is a suburbanite woman who drives not only her kids to their games, practices, and watches all of them, she also provides the snacks for between the innings and after the games and Since she rarely works more than part time, this is a major portion of her life. Mr. Palin is a stay at home Dad who fulfills this description well enough.

Oh dear Ms Mouse :-(

Can't blame us for this one (but I don't suppose that'll stop many for trying!). I understand that Mr Brown was talking to Congress or Senate or some such which to convince them that allowing Bush to write the biggest cheque the world has ever seen is a "good thing". Amazing really - these guys must be very, very bad at sums.

Actually they are very, very good at sums. They have figured out an amount of money large enough that once they have bailed out their friends, that they will still have enough to improve their own bottom line and still create one or two positive images for the financial pages. Oh and these guys still want to appeal to the middle class Americans who think that they make enough money to matter to these guys so please remember it is 'check'. None of your fancy 'Q's please.

I have a feeling that your check is part of Noah Webster's dictionary of 1778 or thereabouts. Too late this close to the Meridian to check but he was the bloke who took out the 'U's
