Jacquie

Tony Hirst has written the posting I've been avoiding since Thursday.

5 careful considerations:

Thanks for the link, Nigel. It's almost as if by not saying anything publicly it won't be true... but it is, and I'm glad Tony took the first step.

Still can't get my head round the suddenness of it.

I was holding off because of the children Jacquie was working with through Schome. When I last spoke to Anna it wasn't clear how Jacquie's death would be dealt with there but the last thing anyone wanted was any outpouring on Facebook (for example) before Peter and the Schome team could respond "in world". I'm guessing that has happened now as a few people have been referring to wakes in SL.

I agree about the real sense of shock. Jacquie was one of those folk who was always there and could be relied on for a sanity check. I modded with her and she had an amazing sense of "feel" for where a discussion might be going and where and when to intervene.

I'm not sure I made it clear - I'm glad that Tony posted. I think he's got it just right and it's allowed us to start talking about Jacquie.

That's exactly the phrase I used on Saturday, Nigel, in a note to the only person I've been able to talk to until tonight. I never met Jacquie, I didnt even know what she looked like, yet I feel like a big piece has been torn out of my life. Although we'd moved in different directions, the bonds formed on T171 are so powerful...
Thank you for posting the link.

That's so sad. I'm so sorry Nigel.
