Got the glasses and I'm amazed at how the world looks now that it isn't blurred! I still have to tame the varifocals but the difference in my distance vision is already apparent and it won't be long before I get used to wearing them most of the time. Fantastic!
I gave them a brief run-in reading the Guardian outside my favourite coffee shop in Canterbury so I'll soon be posting about some of the stuff I found :-)

4 careful considerations:
I try not to wear my glasses in the house - I can see the dust.
I still don't seem to need them for typing but I'm amazed at how clear the TV is!
I need them for typing but not walking around. If I forget to take them off I bump into things. Are they bendy frames ones? My latest ones are bendy and I hate them but the ones before were unbendy and the lenses kept falling out. I asked if I could have contacts but he said my eyeballs were the wrong shape. I didn't understand that at all ;-(
See ya!
I needed the ones I lost for reading only and would bump into things if I tried walking around. I don't need these round the house (it's too small and wearing glasses means I can see how untidy it is) but I'm wearing them as much as possible so that I get used to them and they really do make a difference. And this morning is the first day in ages that I've not woken with a headache (and that's nothing to do with booze!! :-))
